The University of Michigan Kidney Epidemiology and Cost Center (KECC) offers services to University of Michigan research teams via a recharge model payable by shortcode. KECC measures and reports the quality of healthcare, seeks to improve the effectiveness of clinical practice, and informs national public policy regarding organ failure and treatment. This mission is pursued through interdisciplinary research with a focus on advances in biostatistics and clinical outcomes. KECC manages and maintains a secure HIPAA and FISMA enclave, which meets FISMA moderate and exceeds FISMA low requirements, available for use by University of Michigan researchers. IT staff expertise and support are included in the recharge fee for this service.
