Core Summary

The Center for Health Communications Research (CHCR) is an award-winning leader in designing and developing tailored behavior change and health education interventions. For more than 20 years, CHCR has partnered with researchers and clinicians to help them achieve their research goals. With deep expertise in delivering engaging mobile apps, websites, and personalized media, CHCR weaves together person-centered design and development methodologies with the latest in behavior change strategies. These interventions drive powerful and meaningful change in populations across the demographic spectrum.

CHCR is headed by Co-Directors Dr. Larry An and Dr. Sarah Hawley, who are both seasoned researchers and health communication experts. Under their stewardship, CHCR maintains a multidisciplinary team of experts who each approach development from a different vantage point. Every project includes talented artists and designers, behavior change experts, software engineers, and project management specialists. The real secret to CHCR’s success is the deliberate fusion of all these ingredients.
