Core Summary

At the Center for Advanced Models for Translational Sciences and Therapeutics (CAMTraST), we strive to accelerate the “bench to bedside” process in biomedical research and drug development. Our mission is to develop advanced models for translational sciences and therapeutics as part of the University of Michigan Medical School. We have assembled a team of talents in molecular biology, embryology, and animal reproduction. Our team members are among the first in the world to establish rabbit embryonic stem cell lines, to generate cloned rabbits, and to produce knockout (KO) pigs and to produce gene edited rabbits. CAMTraST is recognized as an international leader in developing novel animal models for translational research and in gene editing tool development.
